<p>The Working Holiday Program signed between Chile and Austria on October 24, 2017, serves to promote mutual understanding by offering young Chilean and Austrian nationals the chance to get to know the culture, everyday life and working life of the other country during a holiday stay.</p>
<p>Young people between the ages of 18 and 30 will be able to (co-)finance their stay working as well as to use the educational institutions abroad.</p>
<p>The visa will allow you to stay in Chile for up to 12 months.</p>
<p><strong>To be eligible you must:</strong></p>
<p>a) Be an Austrian national who is residing in Austria at the time of application.</p>
<p>b) Be at least <strong>18 years and no more than 30 years old</strong> (both inclusive) at the time of application.</p>
<p>c) Not be accompanied by children nor other family members.</p>
<p>d) Not have been approved a visa permit under a Chile Working Holiday scheme before.</p>
<p>e) Have a valid passport for the whole stay in Chile.</p>
<p>f) Hold a return ticket, or have sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket.</p>
<p>g) Have sufficient funds for living during the initial stay in Chile (bank statement).</p>
<p>h) Hold an International Medical Insurance valid for your whole stay in Chile.</p>
<p>i) Pay the visa fee.</p>
<p>j) Present a certificate of good health.</p>
<p>k) Present a background certificate.</p>
<p><strong>Note:</strong> Work in Chile must not be the main purpose of the visa holder’s visit. The main purpose of your stay <strong>must be holiday</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Documents required</strong></p>
<p>a) Your passport’s photo page.</p>
<p>b) Medical certificate (free of infectious diseases).</p>
<p>c) Background certificate.</p>
<p>d) 1 passport size photograph (80% of your face must appear in the photograph)</p>
<p>e) Complete the visa form with your information and send it in Word format  to viena@consulado.gob.cl (you can find the form at the end of this post).</p>
<p><strong>How to apply</strong></p>
<p>You must do it online at <a href="https://tramites.minrel.gov.cl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">https://tramites.minrel.gov.cl/</a> (press the english flag and then press VISA).</p>
<p>Upload all the documents listed above one by one.</p>
<p>You can find a manual on how to apply online step by step at the end of this post.</p>
<p><strong>When to apply</strong></p>
<p>Anytime.</p>
<p><strong>How much time do you have to travel to Chile after your visa has been approved?</strong></p>
<p>You have <strong>90 days</strong> from the date your visa has been stamped on your passport to enter to Chile and activate your visa.</p>
