1. Update your contact details

By filling the form named «Ficha de solicitud de Actualización de Datos«, you will be able to update your address, mobile number and e-mail address.

2. Extend the validity of the resolution that states that your visa is being processed ("visa en trámite")

If your visa hasn’t been approved yet and the resolution that states that your visa is being processed is expiring soon, you now can extend its validity online.

3. Extend the validity of the resolution that states that your Permanent Residency is being processed ("permanencia definitiva en trámite")​

If your Permanent Residency hasn’t been approved yet and the resolution that states that your Permanent Residency is being processed is expiring soon, you now can extend its validity online.

5. Apply for a work permit under a tourist visa

In Chile, tourists have the chance to apply for a work permit under a tourist visa – valid for up to 30 days. If you need to obtain one, you can do it in two steps: 

1) Step one «Apply for the permit» («Solicitar Permiso»): In the first part, you will have to fill the form with your details and upload all the documentation required. Once you have done it, the application will be reviewed by the Immigration Department («Extranjería»). If you meet the requirements you will receive an e-mail with the money order. 

2) Step two «Submit the money order» («Envío de Orden de Pago»): In the second part, you will have to submit the payment receipt and fill the correspondent form. As soon as it is reviewed by Extranjería, you will receive an e-mail with your work permit.

6. Apply for a provisional work permit while your visa is being processed

If you didn’t ask for a provisional work permit (while your visa is being processed) at the moment of your visa the application, you now can ask for one online, in two steps: 

1) Step one «Apply for the permit» («Solicitar Permiso»): In the first part, you will have to fill the form with your details and upload all the documentation required. Once you have done it, the application will be reviewed by the Immigration Department («Extranjería»). If you meet the requirements you will receive an e-mail with the money order. 

2) Step two «Submit the money order» («Envío de Orden de Pago»): In the second part, you will have to submit the payment receipt and fill the correspondent form. As soon as it is reviewed by Extranjería, you will receive an e-mail with your work permit.

7. Humanitarian Plan of Return

8. Reprint your money order

If the money order generated by the Immigration Department has expired (visa, permanent residency, work permit), you will need to obtain a new one in order to pay the fees at any commercial bank.

9. Apply for Permanent Residency

From May you will be able to apply for Permanent Residency online using your ClaveÚnica. For now, the process is available only for those living within the Antofagasta Region and Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins Region.
